The objective was to create a “New York” style eatery and bar with emphasis on the social aspect of both.
The original building needed to be able to show its character and relate to the lower levels – without having a period aesthetic.
The layout of the dining and bar areas needed to interact with each other yet allow privacy.
The openness of the space and natural light needed to balance the vistas to the city’s landscape both day and night.
The Dutchess had to make her own statement whilst sitting at the crown of the oldest hotel in Melbourne – The Duke of Wellington.
